Executive director Mark Miles says West Brom’s finances should improve from this summer and that the club will support head coach James Morrison. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the Baggies plan to strengthen from a healthier position after staying up and handing their former caretaker a two-year contract.
Albion survived despite an English Football League sanction for a profit and sustainability breach, with a decision on any appeal against a points deduction still pending.
The club were found guilty of exceeding the EFL’s £39.5 million three-year loss limit by less than £2 million. They maintain innocence and intend to move on and become competitive in the second tier again.
As the rolling three-year cycle advances, Albion’s forecast looks healthier into the summer and towards 2026/27. The Shilen Patel Bilkul-run club expect to support Morrison’s squad building with fewer concerns over regulations.
Miles said Morrison has unanimous backing and that a season of change is under way, including talks over players who are out of contract. He added that the club can recruit to target a competitive campaign next year.
Back at the club since February after five months away, Miles said they are through the worst and moving to an improved position from a P&S perspective. He said they will make their best efforts to strengthen the squad and that backing will be there for the right players. He praised the togetherness under Morrison that helped them out of a tricky situation.
