Mateus Mane equalled a Cristiano Ronaldo Premier League benchmark with his latest long-range goal for Wolves, and, according to ExpressAndStar.com, said the achievement felt amazing.

The 18-year-old put Rob Edwards' side ahead against Fulham midway through the first half, rifling a right-footed effort from the edge of the area beyond Bernd Leno. It was his third Premier League goal of the campaign and his first in the league since Everton in January.

That strike made him only the second Portuguese teenager to score three or more from outside the box in a single Premier League season, matching Ronaldo's 2003/04 tally of three.

Mane said it felt good to be mentioned alongside his boyhood hero and that he would be telling everyone about it. He added that he grew up watching Ronaldo and Neymar and admired the Brazilian's mentality.

With it being Wolves' final outing at Molineux this season and their penultimate Premier League game before dropping to the Championship, his family were in the stands. He said he had promised them a goal before kick-off and, after trying to score in recent games, knew as soon as the ball left his foot it was in.
