Another potentially interested party in the Sheffield Wednesday takeover process has been revealed
Another party interested in buying Sheffield Wednesday has been revealed.
Ever since former owner Dejphon Chansiri placed the club into administration in late October, news has constantly swirled over who will take over from the Thai businessman at Hillsborough.
Despite being hit with an automatic 12-point penalty which all but confirms their relegation to League One, the Steel City side has had no shortage of interest, with it stated by administrator Kris Wigfield that 80 parties originally came forward.
That list has been whittled down to severely to only the most keenly interested groups, which included the likes of former Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley and US billionaire John McEvoy.
A deadline of December 5 has been set for when it could be announced who has won out as Wednesday’s new owners, but it still isn’t clear as to who that will be.

Whilst some figures such as Ashley and McEvoy have been revealed, the majority of interested parties have remained anonymous during the process.
However, one more name has now been brought to the surface. According to thisismoney, Ryan Howsam is among the bidders for the Owls.
It was previously stated by The Times that Howsam may consider joining the race to take over Wednesday, with that now confirmed by this latest report.
He is the boss of insurance group Staysure and resides in Dubai, after leaving the UK more than 20 years ago. It was revealed by the Sun in 2024 that his company was worth almost £1B, which means that finances would be no issue in the takeover process.
Howsam was born and raised in Sheffield, which gives him an obvious and immediate connection to the Owls.

Sheffield Wednesday supporters will all have differing opinions over who they want to become their next owner, with some parties clearly more favoured than others.
It was recently revealed that Sheffield United’s owners were potentially interested in pursuing a takeover, which is something that would’ve been flat-out rejected by both sets of fans.
One thing is for certain, Wednesday will want an owner with deep pockets and the more wealthy parties that come forward, the better it is for the Owls in this scenario.
It’s yet to be seen who will win out in the race to become the next Wednesday owner, but anyone with Howsam’s level of finances will certainly have the platform to make wholesale changes at Hillsborough and spearhead a brighter future for the club.
