Omar Alderete back as Paraguay opt for a back five against France in World Cup last 16

Paraguay face France in the World Cup last 16 on Saturday at 23:00, recalling Omar Alderete to their starting side.

According to L'Équipe, coach Gustavo Alfaro has changed shape to a defensive 5-4-1. The sides meet again 28 years after their Lens meeting at France 98.

Alderete, 29, the Sunderland defender, returns after a knee issue, which moves José Canale to the bench.

Diego Domez, available again after suspension, starts in midfield. Strasbourg’s Julio Enciso will lead the line alone.
