Pablo Hernández agrees new CD Castellón deal to 2029

According to Superdeporte, CD Castellón have agreed a new contract with head coach Pablo Hernández running until 2029, resolving uncertainty over his future.
Assistant coach Sergi Ripollés, also from Castelló de la Plana, has renewed alongside him. The duo helped turn the season around, taking the side into the play-offs for promotion to LaLiga EA Sports.
Since his arrival, Castellón have recorded 20 wins, 10 draws and 7 defeats. Hernández has brought adaptability, character and strong dressing-room management, while his bold, competitive approach has restored the club among LaLiga Hypermotion’s leading contenders.
Club president Bob Voulgaris voiced his satisfaction with the agreement, praising Hernández’s grasp of what Castellón represents and describing his work as decisive in pushing the team back towards its rightful level. Securing continuity was framed as a priority, reflecting a belief in stability and in the coach best placed to lead the project.
Hernández, from Castelló de la Plana, spoke of the emotion of continuing to manage his hometown club and pledged to give everything to repay the supporters’ affection.
The extension underscores the club’s focus on stability and continuity, with Hernández seen as central to building a competitive and ambitious side.
