The Juventus Men’s First Team settled for a point against Villarreal on Matchday Two of the 2025/26 Champions League, with Renato Veiga scoring a late goal to make it 2-2.
Bianconeri coach Igor Tudor, as well as players Chico Conceicao and Manuel Locatelli, shared their thoughts after the away game.
"We're disappointed and angry about the goal at the end because you can't concede a goal like that from a corner in the dying seconds of a match, there were lots of us in the penalty area. We pushed hard in the second half and made a great comeback, while Villarreal did better in the first half. They are a difficult team to face. Conceicao made the difference when he came on. We'll take this point and move on. When you concede a goal in the last minute, there is always regret and anger."
"It was an intense match. We needed to do better in the first half, but we came out strong in the second. We approached the game well and scored some goals, but we dropped back too much in the final minutes and lacked a bit of composure, and those are the details that make the difference. We conceded a goal at the end, which is a real shame. Important matches like this are decided in this way. Experience counts for a lot, and we need to improve in that regard."
“In the dressing room at half-time, we talked about what went wrong in the first half, and in the second half we understood what we needed to do to improve. We did better, but we didn't manage to win, which is the most important thing. We needed to score another goal, but we also knew that we were playing against a strong team. We have to keep working hard and now focus on the next match.”
