Even though the transfer window in Spain has already closed, the story is far from over for two Real Madrid defenders.

According to SPORT, both David Alaba and Raul Asencio are still attracting interest from Turkey, where the market remains open until the 12th of this month.

This has created fresh speculation around their futures, especially with Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş keeping a close watch.

It is known that Xabi Alonso is content with the squad at his disposal. However, there is a clear surplus of centre-backs in the team, which leaves room for possible exits.

Alongside Turkey, the Saudi Arabian window also remains a factor until the 11th, giving players another potential destination.

While Alonso may not be actively pushing for sales, the circumstances could open doors for changes before the mid-September cut-off.

Asencio does not want to leave

At Besiktas, the situation has shifted after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s exit and the arrival of new coach Sergen Yalçın.

Reports suggest Yalçın has requested a strong, quick central defender, and Asencio has emerged as a prime candidate.

As reported before, the club views him as a serious option despite already having six centre-backs in the squad.

Still, Asencio appears determined to remain in Madrid, calling his chance to be part of the senior squad a “dream” he does not want to give up.

What about Alaba?

Meanwhile, Fenerbahçe are said to be targeting David Alaba. The Austrian, who was once considered a key figure at Madrid, has struggled to maintain his top form in recent seasons.

His wages are among the highest in the team, which could push the club to consider an exit.

Even Alaba himself admitted earlier this summer, “I know I’m not at my best level, but I’ll work to get back.”

With both Besiktas and Fenerbahçe circling, the final days of the Turkish window could prove decisive.

Real Madrid, despite having a strong squad, may still find themselves trimming options in defence if the right offers arrive.
