Real Sociedad marked their Cup triumph to the beat of Daddy Yankee, leaving Anoeta on foot before boarding an open-top bus for a Gipuzkoa-wide reception. The champions were greeted by flags, smoke and a wall of noise.
Diario Vasco reports Mikel Oyarzabal and Igor Zubeldia led with the trophy, while Álvaro Odriozola used a crutch and Mikel Goti arrived with Córdoba’s permission, joined by seven Sanse players who featured in the tournament.
The coaching staff took a second bus, Rino Matarazzo at the front, and a third carried families and sponsors. Bultzada formed a flag-lined guard of honour outside Anoeta and handed the players a scarf amid smoke, flares and cheers.
The open-top bus, branded 'Txapeldunak' with 'Gipuzkoa' 'Izaera' and 'Harrotasuna' on the rear, was stocked with beer, champagne, water and ice. It left at six in the evening, the squad in shirts reading 'GUazen Reala. Txapeldun!', then turned towards Avenida de Madrid into a blue and white ocean.
Municipal police escorted the convoy on motorbikes and in cars, Real flags flying. Music switched from Limbo to Bad Bunny’s Café con Ron, and supporters reworked the refrain to hail Orri Óskarsson, lifting the Icelander.
The buses crawled through adoring crowds, gratitude pouring from balconies, as more fans joined on foot. For many, this Cup became the collective celebration they missed five years ago, a txuri-urdin outpouring not felt since 1987.
Players, staff and supporters wound to Alderdi Eder, where the people’s Cup was finally savoured.
