As Wolves close out their 2025/26 season against Burnley this afternoon, one light-hearted saga became a rare highlight in a year short on smiles.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, four-year-old Wolves fan Rory Smith went viral after cameras at Molineux showed his devastated reaction when dad Tom pinched a chicken nugget during January's goalless draw with Newcastle United.
The clip raced across social media, with supporters dubbing Tom the nugget thief. What might have been a fleeting moment quickly grew into something more meaningful.
Wolves invited Rory back to Molineux and ensured his next box was safe from wandering hands. During the home defeat to Bournemouth, mascot Wolfie surprised him with fresh nuggets and a Wolves shirt.
After the video exploded online, Aldi UK spotted his love of nuggets and, as it searched for its first-ever official chicken nugget taster, offered him a role as a mini nugget tasting expert sampling items from its range.
In a season heavy on frustration, Rory's story united supporters, underlined the family feel at Molineux and offered a reminder of the club at its best.
