FC Bayern is on the verge of signing Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown. Now, President Herbert Hainer has commented for the first time on the two players the club is targeting—and at the same time explained Munich’s transfer strategy.
At FC Bayern, planning for the upcoming season is in full swing. With Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven and Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt, two transfers are on the verge of being finalized.
While, according to consistent media reports, Saibari has already passed his physical and digitally signed his contract, negotiations for Brown are in the final stages. The German international’s physical is also scheduled to take place during the World Cup in the U.S.

Bayern President Herbert Hainer has now commented on the two potential new signings in an interview with the Abendzeitung München. “They’re both very good players,” the 71-year-old explained.
However, Hainer did not want to reveal any further details. “I’m sure you understand that I won’t comment on potential transfers.”
In doing so, the president is adhering to the record champion’s standard policy as long as transfers have not yet been officially finalized.
In addition to discussing these two players, Hainer also spoke generally about the Munich club’s squad planning.
The Bayern boss made it clear that no major overhaul is planned. “We have a very good squad—there’s no question about that. That’s why, if anything, we’re simply looking for targeted reinforcements, both for the offense and the defense.”
This statement aligns with the current plans of the club’s leadership. Saibari is expected to make the offense more flexible, while Brown will strengthen the left side of the defense.
Despite the upcoming signings, there could still be some movement within the squad.
Further changes, particularly on the defensive side, cannot be ruled out. Hiroki Ito and Min-jae Kim are still considered potential transfer targets. Both could leave the club if a suitable offer comes along.
Should these departures occur, Bayern would in all likelihood become active on the transfer market once again.
For now, however, the focus is on Vincent Kompany’s two top targets. As things stand, there are strong indications that both Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown will be officially presented as FC Bayern’s first summer signings in the coming weeks.
