Santos TV halts first-team broadcasts amid revamp, box allocated to Gabriel Barbosa | OneFootball

Santos TV has stopped broadcasting first-team matches with commentary and analysis, a service that ran until late last year. The project is undergoing a revamp and should return in a new format in the coming months.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the box previously used for Santos TV’s coverage at Vila Belmiro has been allocated to striker Gabriel Barbosa as part of the terms for his return. Matches played away from Vila Belmiro are also not being shown.

Last year, the production company hired to deliver the broadcasts had difficulty receiving the contracted fees from the club. Payment delays were frequent, which strained relations and caused inconveniences for professionals involved in the project.

Youth-team broadcasts are set to continue as normal. Santos TV had been showing Paulista U-15 and U-17 home fixtures.

For the Paulista U-20, a separate rights holder now controls coverage. In some Brasileiro U-20 home matches without an external broadcast, the club’s channel had also been streaming the games.
