São Paulo top attendance as Brasileiro opens, Corinthians v Bahia lowest crowd

The opening round of the Campeonato Brasileiro drew its biggest crowd at Morumbis, where São Paulo beat Flamengo 2-1 in front of 27,203. The fixture also produced the round’s highest gross, R$ 1,543,721.
According to Globo.com, the smallest attendance came at Vila Belmiro, with 13,788 watching Corinthians lose 2-1 to Bahia. The lowest gross was at Beira-Rio, where Internacional were beaten 1-0 by Athletico-PR, generating R$ 357,073.
Atlético-MG drew 2-2 with Palmeiras at Arena MRV, a total crowd of 25,770 and gate of R$ 1,331,908. At the Maracanã, Fluminense beat Grêmio 2-1 before 22,986, bringing in R$ 972,325.
Coritiba lost 1-0 to Bragantino at Couto Pereira, 19,637 in attendance and R$ 420,508 in receipts. Vitória defeated Remo 2-0 at Barradão, with 16,603 and R$ 387,892.
Chapecoense overcame Santos 4-2 at Arena Condá, watched by 17,551 and grossing R$ 1,007,940.
The round continues on Thursday with Mirassol v Vasco at Maião, and Botafogo v Cruzeiro at the Nilton Santos.
