Sevilla have taken a hard line on Gerard Fernández, known as Peque, and are not planning to sanction a loan exit. Any departure would need a permanent sale that meets their valuation.

ABC de Sevilla reports the club have cooled Racing Santander’s hopes of landing the forward for their LaLiga return, insisting a loan will not be considered and that only a transfer would be discussed at the right price.

Racing have targeted Peque for their top-flight campaign. President Manolo Higuera told Cadena SER there have been talks to try to sign him, while stressing the scale of the financial challenge. The Cantabrians had explored a season-long loan.

Sevilla paid four million euros in 2024, the value of his release clause, to sign the then Racing standout. He has yet to fully establish himself, but his profile and salary support keeping him unless a satisfactory offer arrives.

Should he move on, Sevilla are weighing alternatives, with Adrián Liso viewed as a strong candidate. Any pursuit of the Real Zaragoza winger is being studied independently of Peque’s situation and Racing’s interest.

Heraldo de Aragón says Liso is drawing competition from Valencia, Rayo Vallecano and Mallorca. Getafe hold a 50% purchase option for three million euros, though Zaragoza have already rejected an opening bid worth half that figure.

The recruitment team remain on alert as attacking decisions loom. Sevilla have already confirmed Juan Iglesias and Jon Guridi, and will soon do likewise with Arouna Sangante.
