Raul Jimenez drew the biggest roar at Molineux as he came on for Fulham during Wolves’ final home match, with supporters serenading him with ‘Si Senor’.
The Mexico striker was introduced midway through the second half to a rapturous welcome. According to ExpressAndStar.com, it felt especially poignant, coming in the final Premier League game before Wolves drop into the Championship.
Initially signed on loan, Jimenez made an immediate impact, became a cult favourite and was later secured for £30m. He helped establish Wolves in the top flight and played his part in their run to the Europa League quarter-finals.
He suffered a fractured skull in 2020 in a clash at Arsenal, then left for Fulham in 2023 in a £5.5m move. He has returned to Wolverhampton several times, but this reception stood apart.
Earlier this weekend, a social media photo of Wolverhampton posted by Jimenez’s wife prompted fresh chatter among fans. Supporters have also speculated in recent weeks about a bold summer attempt to bring the striker back.
