Sow close to Nantes loan as Zouaoui pursuit cools | OneFootball

Saïdou Sow could join Nantes on a season-long loan with an option to buy, while Yanis Zouaoui’s move has cooled.

According to L'Équipe, Strasbourg’s Guinean centre-back Sow, 24, under contract until 2028, is in line for a one-year loan to Nantes in Ligue 2 with a purchase option.

The former Saint-Étienne defender previously spent the second half of 2024-25 on loan at Nantes, a spell cut short by a ruptured cruciate ligament in his left knee in early May 2025.

Fit again, he joined Clermont on loan last winter in Ligue 2, making 12 appearances.

Sow could bolster a reshaped defence at Nantes, although the pursuit of Le Havre left-back Yanis Zouaoui, once well advanced, now appears in doubt.

With Montpellier moving for the Franco-Algerian, Nantes are said to have ended their interest.
