FC Bayern and the Japan Football Association (JFA) are continuing their close cooperation. The German record champions have announced that the existing cooperation agreement has been extended for a further three years – until 2028. This marks an impressive anniversary for this special partnership.

FC Bayern and the JFA have maintained an intensive professional exchange for years, with the aim of further optimizing talent development structures and raising the promotion of young talent in both men’s and women’s soccer to a new level.

With the extension, the cooperation will now run for a total of ten years – a strong sign of mutual trust and long-term continuity.

CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen emphasized the importance of this cooperation: „FC Bayern and the Japan Football Association are linked by a special partnership that is characterized by deep mutual respect.“

The contract extension is proof of how successful the joint projects have already been – and how great the interest of both sides is in expanding them further.

„We look forward to the next chapters of this partnership“

In recent years, the record-breaking champions have implemented numerous projects together with the JFA – from youth camps and coach training to structural development programs.

Dreesen continued: „Together, we have been able to implement numerous innovative projects and learn from each other. We want to continue to promote talent, deepen the exchange and make our contribution to the further development of soccer internationally.“

Particularly exciting for FC Bayern: the cooperation with Japan has provided the club with valuable insights in recent years – not only in the youth sector, but also in scouting and structural development.

JFA sees Bayern as a key partner

Bayern’s head of youth development Jochen Sauer also sees the extended cooperation as a major plus: „Japan is a soccer nation with great potential, a high level of professionalism and enormous passion.“

The regular exchange brings important impulses, especially in the area of academy work. The close connection to the Japanese youth system could also pay off in future in scouting – in both the men’s and women’s game.

JFA President Miyamoto Tsuneyasu also emphasized the importance of the cooperation: „Working with a world-class club like FC Bayern is crucial to strengthening Japanese soccer globally.“

Japan wants to use the strengths of both sides to promote the next generation and become more competitive internationally in the long term.
