Sunderland’s Red & White Army has called on the club to delay releasing unrenewed season tickets past the proposed deadline at five pm on 20 April, citing unresolved renewal problems.
The group’s dialogue with Sunderland began before last month’s Tyne-Wear derby, when some tickets were rescinded then returned to sale after what the club described as a “large-scale” breach of ticketing rules. The episode, combined with ongoing renewal problems, has heightened scrutiny of ticketing processes since promotion to the Premier League.
The group has compiled a list of ticketing concerns, including seat moves, admin fees and switching between pricing structures, and is seeking a ticketing-specific meeting as a matter of urgency. Timing is described as highly sensitive within the renewal timetable.
While acknowledging progress in many areas, the group maintains there remain too many poor customer service and ticketing outcomes. It is increasingly frustrated by the lack of progress and is pressing for swift resolution.
Long-serving fans have reported difficulties retaining or adapting their matchday experience, particularly when moving between corporate packages and general admission. RAWA has asked affected supporters to email info@redandwhitearmy.co.uk.
