West Ham have agreed to the £54.5m sale of Mohammed Kudus to bitter rivals Spurs.
It’s a move that will infuriate an already damaged and fragile fanbase, with many questioning how on earth the club are in such a financial mess, considering the years spent in the top flight, 3 years of European football, the sale of an Academy graduate for £105m and the fact West Ham rent a stadium.
Whatever the reasons are, West Ham are a desperate football club, who have surrendered to pressure from Daniel Levy, who has undoubtedly had one over on his nemesis, David Sullivan.
West Ham though defend the sale, although admitting it wasn’t the best deal, they feel its crucial to hand the funds to Graham Potter now, as the rebuild this summer looks set to get underway.
What is needed now is full backing, a strong determination from the club to bring in the players that Potter and his Head of Recruitment Kyle Macaulay have identified as key players to get West Ham firing once again.
Only time will tell if this painful Kudus sale does have a silver lining.
