Harry Kane’s hopes of Champions League success came to an end this week, after Bayern Munich were eliminated in the semi-finals.
The England captain could not have done much more to help his side through the tournament, scoring 14 goals in 13 games, including in both semi-final ties against PSG.
Kane set several records, including the most goals ever scored in a single Champions League campaign by an English player.
He also became the first Bayern Munich player in history to score in six straight knockout games, and only the second player to ever achieve the feat. Only Cristiano Ronaldo had ever done so previously.
Kane’s remarkable record has seen him climb to third for all-time goal involvements by English players in Champions League knockout games.
His goals this season mean he’s one of only four Englishman to have scored in multiple Champions League semi-finals, and he now has 20 goals and assists in knockout round games.
Only Frank Lampard (24) and Wayne Rooney (23) have managed more among English players in the competition.
