Southampton are seeking a successor to Ross Stewart, with three forwards emerging as credible options.

According to Sainstmarching.com, the club tied Cyle Larin, James Bree and Daniel Peretz to new deals, but missed the deadline on Stewart. Larin leads the line after a three and a half million move from Mallorca as German technical director Johannes Spors compiles a shortlist.

Mateusz Zukowski, 24, rescued Magdeburg with 17 goals in 21, finishing two points above relegation. Converted from right-back, he returned 0.83 goals per 90 in 2025/26 and looks a powerful, affordable fit.

Tottenham’s Will Lankshear hit 11 for relegated Oxford United in 2025/26. After one full Championship season he appears ready for another, matching an xG of 11.08. With Leo Scienza, Finn Azaz and Tom Fellows supplying him, he will soar.
