ExpressAndStar.com understands that Wolves are considering a summer move for 34-year-old right-back James Tavernier.

He is out of contract at the end of the season and has announced he will leave after 11 years with the club. He has been a key figure since joining in 2015.

Tavernier lifted the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup and League Cup, and captained Rangers to the 2022 Europa League final, which ended in a shootout defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Renowned as a goalscoring full-back, he has 144 goals in 563 appearances for the Glasgow side.

In a social media post, he said the decision was not easy, expressed pride in the captaincy and stressed his focus remains on finishing the season and the title push, while feeling the time is right for a new challenge.

Rob Edwards has committed to making significant changes to his squad this summer, with relegation already confirmed, and Tavernier is viewed as a potential addition.

Wolves are also keen on free agent Dan Neil, who will leave Sunderland when his deal expires following a loan at Ipswich. The 24-year-old has captained Sunderland to Championship promotion and could bolster midfield options, with Andre and Joao Gomes likely to be sold.

Wolves are monitoring Torino winger Alieu Njie. The 20-year-old has one goal and one assist in 11 Serie A games this season, and since debuting in 2024 has made 31 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice and assisting once.
