FC Bayern took a big step towards the Champions League quarter-finalswith a 6-1 away win at Atalanta Bergamo. However, the Munich side’s convincing performance was overshadowed by several injuries. Three Bayern players – Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies and Jonas Urbig – had to leave the field with injuries

After the game, sporting director Max Eberl commented on the trio’s health for the first time and provided an initial update

The biggest concern at the moment is Alphonso Davies, who had to be substituted in tears in the 72nd minute after injuring himself during a sprint without the opponent being involved

It is particularly bitter for Davies, as he had only been substituted at half-time and had therefore just celebrated his comeback. Eberl confirmed after the game that it could be another muscle injury: „Unfortunately, Phonzy Davies has another muscular problem.“

If the suspicion is confirmed, it would be the next setback for the 25-year-old, who recently had to take a break due to a torn muscle fiber

Musiala probably only out as a precaution

Jamal Musiala was in a slightly better position, having also come on at half-time and scoring shortly afterwards to make it 6-0 to FC Bayern

In stoppage time, however, Musiala grabbed his ankle several times and eventually left the pitch with an injury

According to Eberl, however, this was apparently not a serious injury: „Jamal Musiala’s is the least serious, it was more of a precautionary measure.“

Bayern keeper Jonas Urbig was not without injuries either. The 22-year-old was hit on the head when Mario Pasalic conceded a late goal

The goalkeeper looked visibly dazed afterwards and was unable to finish the game. There is currently no precise diagnosis. „I don’t know exactly with Jonas, he was just a bit woozy, had a headache,“ explained Eberl

According to initial reports, a concussion is suspected. Urbig was taken to hospital immediately after the game. He is currently unlikely to play in the Bundesliga match against Bayer Leverkusen next weekend.
