Belén Aquino praises Corinthians, targets Women's Club World Cup

The Corinthians women's team is already in London to compete in the FIFA Women's Club World Cup. The black-and-white delegation left Brazil on the night of last Tuesday, from Guarulhos International Airport, and arrived in the English capital on the morning of Wednesday (21).

At the airport, in an interview with Meu Timão, forward Belén Aquino commented on the significance of the tournament for the club and the squad. The player highlighted the collective effort of the Brabas throughout the season that secured their qualification and expressed confidence in the team's preparation to face an unprecedented challenge in the women's football calendar.

“I think everyone knows how grand this competition is and how much the girls fought to earn this spot. We know our potential, both in our internal competitiveness and for the games abroad. The expectation is high. We won't have an easy life, but the journey has been good so far, and I believe it will continue to be. We know we need to do a good job, but we are confident in the process and, above all, in our group,” said Belén.

Recently integrated into the Corinthians squad, Aquino is one of the six athletes signed by the club for the 2026 season. The forward also highlighted the personal moment she is experiencing in her career and the responsibility of wearing the Corinthians jersey in a competition of global reach, emphasizing the daily work to be available to the technical staff.

“This is a crucial moment for me; in fact, I consider all moments important. As I said, we know the greatness of this competition. I am enjoying every moment, but with full awareness of the responsibility that comes with being here. I am working to reach my best level, just like the other girls, to give our best and seek a historic achievement for the club,” she concluded.

Corinthians will debut in the FIFA Women's Club World Cup on January 28, when they face Gotham FC from the United States at 9:30 am (Brasília time) at the GTech Community Stadium in London, in a match valid for the semi-final. In the other semi-final, Arsenal from England and AS FAR from Morocco will compete for a spot in the final.
