Benfica have welcomed Henrique Araújo, Gustavo Varela and Rafael Obrador back to the Benfica Campus to keep fit, but the trio are not in Marco Silva’s plans for 2026/27.

According to Glorioso 1904, the three reported to Seixal to maintain conditioning while new clubs are found. Initially left out of the pre-season start, they are now training under Benfica staff until their situations are resolved.

Gustavo Varela remains on Gil Vicente’s radar after last season’s loan, though the forward has, for now, declined a return to Barcelos.

Rafael Obrador is being tracked by Torino, who are looking to reduce Benfica’s asking price, which is around nine million euros. Deportivo La Coruña are also an option.

Henrique Araújo appears the closest to a permanent departure. The striker, whose contract has one year left, is preparing to end a Benfica spell that began in 2018/19 after several loans and without securing a regular first-team place.

Until deals are agreed, the trio will remain at the Benfica Campus to keep fitness and sharpness. The club’s priority is to find solutions that suit all parties so the players can begin the next stage of their careers.
