A bombshell report from Onda Cero has shocked the Real Madrid supporters, as it claims Carlo Ancelotti has decided to leave the club at the end of the season.

Ancelotti’s future has always been a subject of much discussion, especially knowing that Real Madrid want Xabi Alonso to become the next manager sometime soon.

Ancelotti’s contract does not expire until 2026. But if he decides to leave next summer, it could pave the way for Real Madrid to bring in Alonso.

No plans to leave Real Madrid

However, Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Filippo Ricci has now refuted the report from Onda Cero.

The Italian journalist suggests Ancelotti has no plans to leave Real Madrid anytime soon. In fact, he is very happy at the Santiago Bernabeu.

While it is hard to deduce anything until something more conclusive comes out, it must be noted that Ancelotti has never truly shown any desire to leave Real Madrid.

The Italian manager has always maintained that he wants to fulfill his contract at Santiago Bernabeu, which does not expire until 2026.

That said, it cannot be entirely discounted that Real Madrid board might force Ancelotti to leave early, simply in order to bring in Alonso next summer.

In fact, it was reported earlier in the season that Los Blancos have already readied Santiago Solari as an interim replacement for Ancelotti, should the Italian get sacked in the middle of the season if things go wrong.

Real Marid have since done well and are now leading the La Liga table. They have also made some ground in the Champions League, although the upcoming few matches could be crucial.

Safe to say, it is a bit too early to deduce the future of Ancelotti. A lot could be determined in the coming months, especially if Real Madrid falter in the Champions League.
