Spain’s World Cup celebrations featured an unusual scene as Gianni Infantino signalled to Donald Trump to leave the centre of the stage so the players could take the spotlight.
According to Superdeporte, the United States president had been standing beside the trophy during the ceremony and took a few moments to move until the FIFA president pointed him to one side.

The exchange, captured by television cameras, spread rapidly on social media and briefly eclipsed the champions’ big moment.
Trump then stepped back and Spain lifted the cup, celebrating with the customary image of the team alone at the centre.
The focus returned to the champions at the decisive moment, with the players occupying the spotlight for the trophy presentation.
