Arsenal remain in talks to sign Leicester City attacker Jeremy Monga after their opening bid was rejected.
Manager Mikel Arteta wants the 16-year-old at the Emirates Stadium club. However, Leicester are holding out for a bigger fee, and his representatives are working closely with the Gunners to reach an agreement.
Monga has reportedly been learning about life at Arsenal through Max Dowman. The England youth international duo could be playing together at club level next season.
The Leicester academy graduate will hope to force his way into Arteta’s first-team plans next season, and he has the potential to do so.
Arsenal have several attacking options at their disposal and will look to add more to their ranks as they look to defend the Premier League title next season.
Monga will not be the only forward the Gunners will look to sign this summer. They have been linked with a couple of big names, and new targets are expected to emerge in the coming weeks.
Arsenal will be desperate to go one better in the Champions League next season after losing last season’s final to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Gunners also fell short in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup campaigns, and they must recruit smartly to compete on all fronts next term.
