Leicester City could listen to £20m offers for Abdul Fatawu this summer despite a £30m buyout clause, LeicesterMercury.co.uk reports.
The Foxes are said to be planning for life without the Ghanaian as they seek to trim the wage bill. They are prepared for cutbacks regardless of whether they stay up.
While Fatawu is understood to have a £30m clause, clubs may not activate it after a tough season, so a £20m bid could test Leicester’s resolve.
Leicester have recorded a £71.1m loss for 2024-25, the third highest in the club’s recent history. Their Premier League transfer outlay did not pay off, and the campaign ended in relegation.
Even so, the loss is not expected to cause Profit and Sustainability Rules issues, with the club having filed a compliant submission for the season. City have received a six-point deduction for exceeding the loss limit for the three financial years ending in 2024.
