Reds have suffered a double injury blow ahead of Premier League return
Liverpool boss Arne Slot has three options to choose from as he mulls over who to start at right-back against Nottingham Forest.
The reigning Premier League champions welcome Forest to Anfield on Saturday hoping to bounce back from defeat to Manchester City before the international break.
However, Slot will be forced into making at least two changes to the side that started at the Etihad Stadium.
One of which is at right-back as Conor Bradley picked up a muscle issue while on duty with Northern Ireland and is now set to be out of action for at least three weeks.
With regards to replacing Bradley, Slot has revealed that Curtis Jones, Dominik Szoboszlai and Joe Gomez are all options.
“He [Szoboszlai] is doing so well in every position. That’s true. He’s played really well as a full-back and played really well as a midfielder,” Slot said in Friday’s pre-match press conference.
“Curtis Jones played there last season. Joe Gomez can play there but Joe Gomez has played, I think if I’m correct, two times 90 minutes throughout the whole 2025 year. So, if we want to keep him available longer it’s maybe a bit of a risk to play him seven times in 22 days.
“He missed out on a training session yesterday by the way as well but we are expecting him to train today. [It’s] challenging but the good thing is we have still enough good players available and maybe one of them or two of them have to play in positions they usually don’t do. That’s what we have to accept.”
It It is possible that Slot opts for Jones at full-back as Liverpool will be expected to dominate possession against Forest. This decision would allow Szoboszlai to continue in his favoured No10 role and potentially eliminate the risk of the Hungarian picking up a yellow card that would rule him out of the West Ham game.

The other enforced change will see Florian Wirtz drop out of the starting line-up through injury and he could be replaced by Cody Gakpo on the left-hand side of the attack.
Elsewhere, Alisson Becker is back in contention after missing the last seven games with a hamstring injury. The Brazilian has trained during the international break and is expected to win his place back from Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Alexander Isak is pushing to replace Hugo Ekitike in attack and Andy Robertson should be fine to start despite missing training on Thursday.
Predicted Liverpool XI (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Jones, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Isak
Injured: Wirtz, Bradley, Frimpong, Leoni
