Manchester City’s charity has released its Annual Report for the 2023/24 season, showcasing City in the Community’s (CITC) impactful work.

Founded in 1986, CITC’s purpose is to support people across Greater Manchester by empowering healthier lives with city youth through football.

The charity’s programmes place physical and mental wellbeing at their core, whilst also creating healthy futures and healthy communities.

The second year of CITC’s three-year strategy saw the charity deliver 17 programmes to more than 16,000 participants, achieving an average contact time of 23.5 hours per participant.

These efforts translated into 270,000 aggregate attendances, 740 qualifications gained, and 18,700 hours of delivery, underscoring the charity’s commitment to creating sustained, meaningful connections.

Chief Executive Officer for City in the Community, Michael Geary, said: “Our 2023/24 Annual Report reflects another year of passion, progress, and purpose.

“It is a celebration of the important work that happens every day across Greater Manchester, made possible by the support of our partners, the dedication of our staff, and the enthusiasm of Manchester City fans.

“This report not only highlights the numbers but also stories of transformation and opportunity. It is a reminder of how football can bring people together and make a lasting impact in our community.
