Neymar and Gabigol report early for Santos training during break | OneFootball

According to Diario Do Peixe, Neymar and Gabigol reported to CT Rei Pelé on Tuesday 24 for physical work, one day before the squad’s official return under Cuca on Wednesday.

The sessions come during the FIFA international break, a pause the staff are using to tune the team and aid recoveries. Santos are next due to play on two, against Remo at Vila Belmiro.

Left out of Brazil’s latest call-up, Neymar has in this window a final chance to build rhythm before the World Cup’s final list. He is following a tailored programme after being rested against Cruzeiro in a load management decision.

The expectation is that he will be in better condition to put together a run of games in the coming weeks.

Gabigol is also stepping up preparation. He recently underwent a PRP procedure on the pubis, a non-surgical treatment used to speed tissue regeneration. Despite a long-standing discomfort, he has no injury and is cleared to train.

He missed the last round for contractual reasons, as he is on loan from Cruzeiro and cannot face the Minas Gerais club. Other players who did not travel to Belo Horizonte also returned early to start their preparation.
