Former worker takes Neymar to court

Neymar faces €43,000 lawsuit from former cook
Brazil star Neymar is facing legal claim from former cook who says her work at his home caused serious health problems.
A former employee of Santos forward Neymar has filed a lawsuit claiming that the working conditions at the player’s home caused her physical injuries.
According to Brazilian news outlet Metropoles, the woman worked as a cook at Neymar’s residence in Rio de Janeiro.
In her complaint to the regional labor court, she said she often worked up to 16 hours a day preparing meals for large groups of people.
The former cook said she regularly had to prepare food for more than 150 people each day. She told the court that the job required constant physical effort including carrying heavy meat and large kitchen equipment.
According to her statement, this workload caused several health problems including spinal issues and inflammation in the hip joint. Her lawyers described the situation in the legal filing as “excessive workload” that required strong physical effort from the beginning of her contract.
The woman is seeking €43,000 in compensation to cover medical costs and unpaid overtime. While her official salary was registered at about 4000 Brazilian reais (around $760) per month, she told the court that her average income reached 7,500 reais (about $1,425) with bonuses and extra hours.
The case is currently being examined by the labor court which will decide whether the claim meets the legal requirements for compensation.
