Fabrizio Romano yesterday evening put out the interesting information that Axel Disasi was a target for West Ham on loan, and was close to completing a move.

West Ham approach Chelsea over Axel Disasi loan says Ben Jacobs.
However, it doesn’t look like it will be so simple. We’ve heard all along that Chelsea would prefer to sell Disasi than loan him – that’s the only reason he’s not already been on loan all year.
Ben Jacobs, who is perhaps even better connected at Chelsea than Romano, has just put out information that agrees that the Blues have been approached over a loan, but adds that Chelsea “prefer to sell”, meaning that “options are being kept open.”
Meanwhile the Hammers “have other targets as well.” It sounds like they also see Disasi as a last minute backup option if they can’t get something bigger and better over the line.
So it seems like nothing is close to being done just yet. We would imagine they will still accept a loan if nothing else comes up, but they’ve got a final desperate chance now to try and make something permanent happen.
Poor Axel must just be praying something comes together soon. We still have until Monday night, but given no buyers have been found in 18 months of looking for them, it’s hard to imagine something will truly come out of nowhere now.
Andrey Santos has benefitted from the arrival of Liam Rosenior, playing far more than he was under Enzo Maresca and carving out a really important role in the team.
Fabrizio Romano claimed last night that a deal was close for Axel Disasi to join West Ham on loan, with just a couple of days left in the window to get the deal done.
