Shakira said in a video post that her new track 'Dai Dai' will be the official song of the World Cup, to be staged in June and July across the United States, Mexico and Canada. The single will be released on 14 May.

The clip was filmed at the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro. Wearing a yellow shirt and blue shorts, echoing Brazil’s colours, she performs with dancers and several footballs while teasing parts of the song.

She walks on to the pitch carrying Trionda, the tournament’s official ball, sets it down as if to start a move, then launches into the 'Dai Dai' choreography. Her dancers wear the colours of Colombia, Argentina and the United States.

The track opens with "Oe, oe, oe", set to a lively Caribbean rhythm, and features English lyrics that say the World Cup belongs to everyone.

The scene features four World Cup balls, representing Germany 2006, South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014, along with North America 2026’s Trionda.

Shakira fronted 'Waka Waka' for South Africa 2010 and returned with 'La La La' for Brazil 2014, while 'Hips Don't Lie' was a sensation in Germany in 2006. The one minute seven second video ends with the message "We Are Ready".
