Villarreal plan to ask LaLiga to stage their first three league matches of 2026/27 away from home because renovation works at Estadio de la Cerámica will not be finished by mid August. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the new dressing rooms are being relocated to a building connected to the stadium by a walkway, which will temporarily affect capacity and other areas.

The club has begun a new phase of construction at the Vila-real ground this week to modernise facilities and improve the fan experience. The programme includes better access points, new vomitories and distribution corridors, plus upgrades to internal circulation and matchday safety.

One intervention covers the area around the Fondo Norte and Tribuna, where an annex will extend sports-use spaces, add parking and bolster stadium services. As part of this reordering, the Casals Blaus located beneath that section will be removed.

To ensure the venue is ready, the preference is to open the campaign with three consecutive away games, then return to Estadio de la Cerámica around mid September. LaLiga clubs commonly take this approach during renovation periods, and the league usually accepts such requests.

The works may lead to adjustments in seat distribution for 2026/27, so some season-ticket holders could be affected. Detailed guidance will come with the new season-ticket campaign. Those impacted will receive individual communication and a choice of alternatives.
