Will Lankshear in advanced talks over Middlesbrough move | OneFootball

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Tottenham prospect Will Lankshear is in advanced talks over a permanent move to Middlesbrough.

Boro, beaten play-off finalists under Kim Hellberg, asked about the 21-year-old in January, but he chose to remain at Oxford United.

He later joined West Brom on loan for the second half of 2024/25 and did not score in 11 Championship outings, only four of them starts.

Earlier in the campaign he hit 12 goals in all competitions for struggling Oxford, 11 in the league. He also scored in a 2-1 win over Albion in February, James Morrison’s first match as caretaker.

Southampton have shown interest, with Wolves and Sporting Lisbon also linked, but Boro are reported to have stolen a march for the coveted forward.

Spurs have rejected more than one approach for Lankshear, who has made three substitute appearances for the club. Talks with the Teessiders are progressing, while the fee and personal terms are still to be finalised.

Middlesbrough are set to receive more than £20 million via a 20 per cent sell-on clause from the deal that took Morgan Rogers to Villa. Rogers is set for Chelsea in a British record £117 million move.
