The Netherlands' World Cup journey once again came to an end on penalties. At the Estadio Monterrey in Guadalupe, Ronald Koeman's side were knocked out by Morocco in the Round of 32. It finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, with Cody Gakpo's opener cancelled out by Diop's 91st-minute equaliser. After a goalless extra time, the Dutch missed three penalties, while Morocco missed two before booking their place in the Round of 16, where they will face Canada.
Denzel Dumfries started and played the full 120 minutes.
