Abdul Fatawu may have played his final Leicester City game, with a bad shin wound leaving him a doubt for the season finale at Blackburn. According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, the winger faces a race to be involved.
The Ghanaian was caught by a high, studs-first challenge from Jake Cooper in last Friday’s 1-1 draw with Millwall, a tackle that should have brought a red card. He required stitches and has not trained this week, so his Ewood Park involvement is uncertain.
If he misses out, that Millwall match would be his last City appearance, as he is extremely likely to leave the King Power Stadium this summer.
Gary Rowett said Fatawu carried on in that match but injuries of this type can stiffen and become uncomfortable. He added that the winger has played virtually every game and through knocks, and any absence would not be for ulterior reasons. Leicester plan to assess him on Friday, and Rowett suggested it would not be worth risking him for the final game if he is not right.
Rowett also listed Jamaal Lascelles and Aaron Ramsey as doubts. Ben Nelson, Caleb Okoli and Victor Kristiansen are already out, while Jordan James is unlikely to be fit enough to start as he continues to manage a heel injury from Wales duty in March.
