L'Équipe reports that Ajax and Oscar Garcia have parted company by mutual consent on Sunday, a little over three months after the Spaniard was appointed head coach.

His deal had been due to run until 30 June 2027, and Ajax will now look for a new head coach.

Garcia, 53, arrived to take charge of the reserves in February, then was promoted barely a month later to replace Fred Grim, becoming the club's third coach of the season.

At the time of his promotion, Ajax were fourth in the Eredivisie, five points behind second-placed Feyenoord and 24 adrift of leaders PSV Eindhoven.

They finished the campaign in fifth behind Twente, 28 points off the champions, and qualified for the Conference League play-offs.

The club have not yet named a successor.
