Al-Hilal dominate selective Roshn League window with Martinelli, Summerville and Watkins | OneFootball

In a restrained Roshn League summer, Al-Hilal set the pace by sealing three marquee attacking deals, occupying three of the four highest fees.

According to Goal.com, they signed Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal, Crysencio Summerville from West Ham and Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa.

Martinelli led the list at around 70 million euros, Summerville followed on 64.5 million, and Dutchman Tijjani Reijnders ranked third at 61 million after joining Al-Qadsiah. Watkins placed fourth at about 58.4 million, taking Al-Hilal’s share of the top four to nearly 193 million euros.

That dominance arrived as spending turned selective, with clubs prioritising long-term value over marquee names. Martinelli is 25, Summerville 24, and Watkins was 30 or younger when he arrived, all players in or near their prime.

Elsewhere, Al-Qadsiah’s statement move for Reijnders underlined their intent, while Francisco Trincao took fifth at close to 39.4 million euros after joining Al-Ahli.

Al-Nassr made only one paid signing, bringing in Samu Costa from Real Mallorca for around 22 million euros. The 2026 window highlighted a smarter market, and Al-Hilal thrived by paying big only where it counted.
