Antoine Sibierski has left Troyes after two seasons as sporting director and will take the same role at Anderlecht. The Belgian club said in a statement on Monday.
The 51-year-old former striker helped engineer ESTAC’s return to the top flight and had overseen the club’s sporting strategy for two seasons. His departure had been expected, notably due to disagreements with executive president Edwin Pindi.
He is tasked with orchestrating the sporting policy of Belgium’s most decorated club, winners of 34 league titles, but a side that has lost momentum in recent weeks. Anderlecht’s last title came in 2017 and RCSA, fourth in the Belgian Championship play-offs and well behind leaders Club Bruges, will not be champions this year.
Several names have emerged as potential successors at Troyes in recent weeks. Bafétimbi Gomis, a former striker who had a loan spell at the club from January to June 2005, was mentioned in mid-April.
Others linked include Jocelyn Blanchard, formerly of Lens and Dunkerque, where he knew Pindi, and Julien Fournier, previously at Nice.
