Arokodare set for Ajax loan as Wolves agree exit terms | OneFootball

Tolu Arokodare is close to leaving Wolves after Ajax agreed a season-long loan with an option to buy. According to ExpressAndStar.com, Ajax will cover his 2026/27 wages and pay a £1 million loan fee, with an option around £17 million plus bonuses tied to European qualification.

The 25-year-old, signed for nearly £24 million last summer, has been surplus to requirements. Club and player have worked on an exit all summer.

He was left out of Wolves’ pre-season camp in Portugal, then flown in for one session to cover Adam Armstrong’s calf injury. He did not play in the behind closed doors friendly with Estoril, watching from the stands.

After the squad returned to Compton, a session was cancelled when he refused to leave the first-team group. Extra security were brought in to avoid a repeat.

He was not banned from the training ground but did not feature against Maidenhead or Real Sociedad. On social media he called some reports inaccurate, without specifying which or denying the incident.

Fiorentina and Trabzonspor saw bids rejected earlier in the window. Trabzonspor later had an offer accepted, but he turned it down, preferring Italy. He has now agreed to move to the Netherlands after Ajax struck a deal with Wolves.
