Tolu Arokodare rejects claims over halted Wolves training session | OneFootball

Tolu Arokodare has rejected what he called inaccurate reports surrounding a cancelled Wolves training session.

ExpressAndStar.com understands boss Cesar Peixoto halted Monday’s session at Compton Park after Arokodare refused to leave the first-team group.

The 25-year-old, widely expected to depart Molineux this summer, is believed to favour Fiorentina after turning down Trabzonspor. He was not in the squad for Wednesday’s 1-0 friendly win at Maidenhead United.

Addressing the situation on social media, Arokodare said he was surprised and disappointed by the reports and stressed he has always prided himself on professionalism and high training standards. He added that he remains under contract with Wolves and intends to train, do his job and contribute to the team in line with that agreement.

Arokodare joined from Genk for £24 million last summer and scored three Premier League goals as the club were relegated from the Premier League. In April, he faced disciplinary action after a dressing room bust-up with team-mate Mateus Mane during a 4-0 defeat at West Ham, in which he was the sole aggressor.
