Arrascaeta started Uruguay's 4-1 win over South Korea on Monday 28, but left late with pain in his left wrist, causing concern at Flamengo. According to Coluna Do Fla, the Flamengo No 10 departed in discomfort.

He set up Darwin Núñez in the 13th minute, then scored in the 27th after a pass from Maxi Araújo. Coach Diego Forlán replaced him on 32 minutes of the second half after he fell awkwardly.

If a wrist injury is confirmed, it would not be his first setback for Uruguay in 2026. During June's World Cup preparations he sustained a medium-grade strain to his right calf.

Flamengo top the Brasileirão on 60 points, with Palmeiras on 57. They face Estudiantes of Argentina in the Libertadores semi-finals on 15 and 22 October, and medical tests will determine the extent of his availability.

Arrascaeta has played 35 times in 2026, scoring nine goals and supplying five assists. After a standout 2025 that earned him the Rei da América award, he has yet to reach the same level this year.
