Arteta sees a lot of positives as Arsenal beat Ipswich Town

Arsenal dumped Ipswich Town out of the Carabao Cup last night as the Gunners continued their progress in one of the competitions they will be keen to win this season.

Arsenal want to win the quadruple, and they will need to achieve that success one victory at a time. As a result, the Carabao Cup remains an important competition for the club, particularly as they look to compete for every available trophy.

Arsenal avoid a potential slip-up

The team is now at a stage where it can beat anyone, but these are still early-season games, with many more matches to play. It can be easy for a team to underestimate its opponents, particularly in cup competitions where anything can happen.

Arsenal understood the importance of avoiding complacency and did well to prevent any slip-ups against Ipswich. Max Dowman inspired the Gunners to victory in the fixture, giving Mikel Arteta another reason to be pleased with his players.

The Gunners will be keen to continue winning games as the season progresses, while Arteta can take plenty of positives from the performance his players delivered against Ipswich. The result also allows Arsenal to maintain their progress in the Carabao Cup.

Arteta pleased with Arsenal display

The manager was particularly pleased with the way his team approached the match from the opening stages. Arsenal were dominant, fluent and aggressive, while their early goals provided an excellent platform from which to control the game.

Arteta also highlighted the individual performances produced by his players, while noting that some players made their debuts. He said via Football London:

“I’m really pleased with a lot of things that we’ve done tonight. The way we attacked the game, how dominant, fluent and aggressive we were right from the beginning to try to influence the results. We scored two very early goals that gave us obviously a great platform for the game. And yeah, individually some big performances as well, some debuts tonight which is great to see as well. So we take a lot of positives from the night.”

The performance therefore gives Arsenal plenty of encouragement as they continue their campaign, with the Carabao Cup now providing another opportunity to pursue silverware this season.
