Atalanta and Fiorentina have moved for Sevilla full-back Juanlu as the club need to finalise a major sale before the end of June to ease this season’s deficit.

Radio Marca reports that the Serie A pair have held initial formal talks with Sevilla director José Ignacio Navarro and the defender’s representatives, with no further progress at this stage.

Sevilla point to his contract running until 2029 when setting terms, underlining their firm negotiating position.

Despite a small dip last season, the Montequinto native has become a trusted option in Nervión. An Olympic champion in Paris, he can play full-back, winger and in interior midfield roles, a profile valued in Italy.

There is recent precedent. Napoli were close to an agreement worth around 20 million euros, but negotiations collapsed unexpectedly when a switch to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona looked imminent.

Now Atalanta and Fiorentina are positioning to offer him a prominent role in their projects. With his long deal, Sevilla retain leverage and will demand a price aligned with his value.
