Barcelona had a ‘concrete’ interest in PSG-bound attacker | OneFootball

La Liga champions Barcelona expressed a serious interest in the signing of Ajax talent Mika Godts with a view to the 2026/27 campaign. That’s according to Dutch football insider Mike Verweij, who has on Friday provided an insight into the situation.

Youngster Godts has of course seen his name take its place front and centre in the transfer media chatter across Europe for several weeks now.

This comes amid the understanding that the Belgian starlet has made his way firmly into the sights of Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain.

The French heavyweights are now actively working on a deal to bring Godts to Ligue 1, ready to fork over a fee in excess of €50 million to make the transfer a reality.

As alluded to above, though, PSG are far from the only European heavyweight to have set their sights on the 21-year-old over the course of the last few months.

As revealed by journalist Mike Verweij, so too did both Barcelona, and Bayern Munich.

The former are understood to have sent sporting director Deco to Amsterdam on multiple occasions to watch Godts in action this past season, albeit with Barca, in the end, having opted for the signings of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi instead.
