For the last few weeks, one of the main concerns for FC Barcelona has been to end the current financial year, which ends on 30th June, with an overall profit. For this reason, the Catalans have been working to complete some sales as soon as possible.
They were hoping to get some of their required income from the sale of Marc Casado, but this operation has not concluded as quickly as they would have wanted, as the midfielder has not yet decided on his new club. Meanwhile, the exercise of Ansu Fati’s purchase clause by AS Monaco has also not been completed yet.
In such a context, SPORT reports that Barcelona have received a significant amount of money that can prove to be useful in their endeavor of ending the current year with a profit. This income, of €14 million, has come from the resale of a part of VIP seats that the club had sold to the New Era Visionary Group back in 2024 for €70 million.
However, the purchasing entity had not paid the full €70 million at that time, and paid only €28 million initially. Another €14 million was made later, which means the Catalan club is still owed €28 million.
Of this amount, another half, €14 million, is now being paid to Barcelona, as New Era has resold a part of their seats to a Singaporean company for this amount, after the approval of the Blaugrana club. This means that the rest of €14 million from New Era is still pending, but negotiations are likely to be already underway for this payment as well.
Hopefully, this cash injection would help Barcelona end the current financial year with a profit, which can have significant sporting impacts as well, as the club is still fighting for the 1:1 status.
