Barcelona superstar tops Vinicius Jr. in this key attacking metric | OneFootball

Barcelona are increasingly looking like the most frightening attack in Europe, alongside the likes of PSG and Bayern Munich.

The spearhead of the Catalan club’s attack is undoubtedly Lamine Yamal, who, along with Raphinha, has been in excellent form since the start of the season.

At just 19, the winger is not merely among Europe’s most dangerous dribblers. The numbers suggest he has established a category of his own.

According to SPORT, Lamine has completed 493 dribbles since Hansi Flick took charge, averaging 5.1 per 90 minutes.

His dominance becomes clearer when compared with the rest of Barcelona’s squad and even Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior.

Lamine operating on another level at Barça

Raphinha is the next Barcelona player on the list with 117 completed dribbles, followed by Pedri on 112 and Fermin Lopez on 111.

That means Lamine has completed more than four times as many dribbles as his closest Barça team-mate.

The Champions League numbers strengthen the argument. Lamine led the competition for successful dribbles in both of the previous two seasons, recording 56 in 2024-25 and another 46 in 2025-26.

He has immediately resumed that trend this season, completing seven against Feyenoord in Barça’s opening European fixture.

Numbers put Lamine ahead of Vinicius

Perhaps the most striking comparison comes against Vinicius, who has long been considered La Liga’s reference point for one-v-one attacking.

Across the period analysed, Lamine has completed 493 dribbles compared with 276 for the Madrid winger, a difference of 217.

Lamine has also created 235 scoring opportunities compared with Vinicius’ 216, suggesting his dribbling is consistently translating into dangerous situations.

The Barça youngster also leads their direct attacking production comparison, with the Spaniard having recorded 47 goals and 40 assists, compared with 45 goals and 28 assists for Vinicius.

Lamine is increasingly combining his one-v-one superiority with goals, assists and chance creation.

Defenders know what he wants to do and still struggle to prevent it. At 19, he has been playing at such a high level for a consistent period now.

When Barça cannot break open a defensive block, they have a cheat code called Lamine Yamal to whom they can give the ball.

Flick will hope that Lamine can continue to influence games as he does for a long time, and it remains to be seen how he develops.
