Earlier this season, Barcelona suffered a massive blow when new signing Joan Garcia picked up an injury, ruling him out for at least a month.
The Spaniard is currently recovering from the injury and hopes to get back to action after the international break. Until then, Wojciech Szczesny is currently serving as Barcelona’s main man in between the sticks.
Szczesny, though, appears to hold his competitor in high regard, notably heaping praise on Garcia in a recent interview.
Szczesny, in fact, backed Garcia to become the best goalkeeper in the world if he can fulfil his potential.
“He will probably end up being the best goalkeeper in the world; he has incredible potential, and just feeling that I can be part of the growth process of this exceptional talent will satisfy me,” he said (h/t Mundo Deportivo).

Szczesny went on to admit that Garcia had caught his eye even during his time at Espanyol last season.
“I discovered Joan last season at Espanyol, and he already made a big impression on me, but after three days of watching him train at Barça, I knew I could help him develop,” he said.
These words will certainly come as a confidence-booster for Joan Garcia as he looks to recover from his fitness and return to the pitch.
As per recent reports, Garcia is aiming to return on October 26, when Barcelona take on Real Madrid in El Clasico.
However, given the magnitude of the game, Garcia would have to return to full fitness much earlier so he can have at least a few days of buffer time to get back into the rhythm.
